Equalseal Purple Maxx Thread Sealant Tape is the workhorse of our heavy-duty tapes. Purple Maxx™ Tape is thicker and denser than most other tapes, and can be used in virtually any application up to 10,000 psi. It provides a tight seal while providing natural lubrication to prevent damage of the threads. Made of 99.5% virgin PTFE (a pigment is added for coloring), it is resistant to most common chemicals, and is rated for temperatures from -450 deg F to +550 deg F. Purple Maxx™ Tape can be used in virtually any application (except Oxygen). It can also be used in gas lines where local codes do not require yellow gas line tape. Purple Maxx’s unique color prevents it from being confused with lighter tapes.
